SEGAD is a communications system that allows security staff to register information about their day-to-day role direct from the field. The client wanted a basic box to transport the new system around the globe, but after research we presented a more cost effective mechanism that went beyond the original requirements. Due to the SEGAD system being used globally, we opted for a mechanism that allowed staff to learn how to use the set up from first opening the case. This required a touchscreen for how-to-use videos combined with an account set-up leaflet that was translated into 30+ languages. Additional features includes an inbuilt phone stand to allow for charging, plus a high impact case for transportation and 'back-to-base' transfer for upgrades. The project took 9 months to complete and required multiple case designs, combined with different technology testing to ensure maximum performance in the field.
